Tom Di’MercurioThe Mercury Alliance, LLC was formed in 2005 by Tom Di’Mercurio who has had a storied career in specialized real estate assets, non-performing real estate loans and REO. He learned his skills in handling other firms’ bad loans by first handling his own as an offshoot of a family real estate loan business in California in the late 1970’s. These skills allowed him to be selected from a nationwide panel of applicants to open and manage FannieMae’s first regional office in Houston, Texas to manage fully one-third of FannieMae’s national REO inventory in 1986. While at FannieMae, Di'Mercurio won the coveted President’s Award in 1987 for initiating a Pilot Program in the Southwest Region which resulted in a limit on foreclosure fees ultimately changing the landscape of conventional foreclosure fees ultimately creating in state by state maximums (This simple concept has resulted in bringing about a more efficient market in transactional, legal fees).

Moreover, in just 18 months in Houston, Di’Mercurio changed the negative perception of a foreclosure resulting in stated demand for FannieMae homes. In Houston, Di'Mercurio forged the strong alliance/partnership with real estate brokers and agents which has carried through to every subsequent position.

Thereafter, Di’Mercurio has held senior and executive positions with First Gibraltar Bank, FSB, FGB Realty Advisors, Inc; First Nationwide Bank and First Nationwide Mortgage (then the 6th largest mortgage servicer), and The Money Store. In each of these positions he has been the Chief Residential Officer with a keen focus and unparalleled success in getting loans to re perform and/or liquidating homes and other properties for the best possible net recovery for the lien-holders. It is this success in managing problem assets for a variety of clients: Wall Street firms, banks, servicers and other risk-holders that provides an uncommon benefit to REO owners and individual sellers of high-end properties. The recognition that each property is unique is the cornerstone to providing an individualized and specialized real estate strategy that really works in meeting/exceeding the expectations of all kinds of sellers and all kinds of properties.

In 1985, he obtained an MBA “With Honors” in Executive Management from St. Mary’s College of California, Moraga, California. He was first licensed as a real estate broker in 1975 by the state of California. And he holds a “Lifetime” Teaching Credential for All Real Estate Subjects by the Chancellor of Education, State of California. He has been licensed as an Employing Broker, Colorado, since 1999.
